Kanye West Performs Jesus Walks At Sunday Service

Trailing his ‘Sunday Service‘ performance in Inglewood, Kanye West has now brought his ongoing instalment to the city of Baton Rouge, Lousiana. The gospel performance attracted thousands to the sprawling lawns of Bethany Church. West and a choir with 80 members offered a moving performance, opening up with “Closed On Sunday” from the rapper’s ‘Jesus is King’ album. West also performed a new take on his iconic 2004 track, “Jesus Walks.”
The crowds completely enveloped the church and can be observed from the interstate, as per WBRZ. “A huge crowd swarmed the field around the three enormous crosses that can be seen from Interstate 10. A choir could be heard singing popular gospel tunes,” stated the news website.

Although the ‘Sunday Service’ performance at Baton Rouge was free to the public, those who purchased a $49.99 USD ticket for a brunch meal had compared the food to Fyre Festival’s controversial catering:

It’s important to note that the brunch catering was organized by the promoter, Lauryn’s Fine Catering, who is not affiliated with West or his ‘Sunday Service’ crew. “Lauryn’s Fine Catering has been contacted about the poor service and quality of food provided during the event as a paid vendor,” according to a statement provided to the Daily Mail. “The catering company acknowledges it did not provide adequate food for ONE attendee and a social media post went viral.”
